but worn away

Pilfered light
from not giving back
slaughtered knack
as the work of generational locusts.
Transmogrified mist
to obscure fog
jostled gist
like earthquakes
toppling decency
then
Whirling tornadoes
circled prey,
choking common sense
with concrete smoke
hurling values
into landfills
of the deranged
and
the
Mired one-sided mountain
surged deeply into the sea
churning chaotic upset
of insensibilities.
Lawlessness
hacked old growth forests
and debased the hills
rivers dried up
in driving rain
and streams wailed from disdain.
Arrogated hated
and blame
assailed
like the obscure mosquito,
and hurricane gales
shouting down
inflamed
the dark destruction
of recognizable life.
No breath is left
for living.
No
thing
is left
of life.
