A fundamental force of nature, in scientific terms, is the attraction or repulsion between objects. In Taoist terms, the one single great force of the universe is called the Way or the Path which is the cosmic force of all things. Gardening and the Tao are my physics teachers about force, and life for that matter.
Using Force in Gardening
For instance, some gardeners in the colder northeast climate where I live force bulbs. This command — solely for the gardener’s pleasure — interferes with the natural nature of Spring flowering bulbs like Anemones, Irises, Hyacinths, and Tulips. It is a trick. Personally, I don’t like being tricked or forced. Do you?
Working with the Force
Taoism is universally represented by the Taijitu, commonly referred to as the Chinese yin-yang symbol.

The seemingly opposing forces contain fragments of the other side, hence, the smaller dots within each. The sides are fluent, not rigid, and complement each other in harmony.
Living life on these terms includes acceptance. And as I’ve continually been reminded these last few years, life is change… and acceptance is the key to flowing with change.
“Acceptance doesn’t, by any stretch of the imagination, mean passive resignation. Quite the opposite. It takes a huge amount of fortitude and motivation to accept what is — especially when you don’t like it — and then work wisely and effectively as best you possibly can with the circumstances you find yourself in and with the resources at your disposal, both inner and outer, to mitigate, heal, redirect, and change what can be changed.”
— Jon Kabat-Zinn in “Coming to Our Senses: Healing Ourselves and the World Through Mindfulness”
Understanding that one component cannot overtake the other, but must coincide in unity, makes it easier to accept that various forces must naturally exist to complete the whole. Tolerance and a willingness to hear other perspectives is key.
A More Natural Nature

Tuning into nature rather than the news is more easy going, nurturing. Taoism enhances my appreciation for nature, human nature, the environment, holistic medical care, a life sans tech. If you’ve read my earlier posts on an unsatisfactory experience with a smart phone, or promoting the National Day of Unplugging you’ll immediately understand.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with me, I am a self-proclaimed neo-Luddite who’s refused to buy into FB, Twitter and SM overall. Call me old school but I love a hearty hug, direct eye contact, and a firm handshake. I thrive on two-way conversation in quality human interaction, choice, and thinking for oneself. This is why I actively avoid sources of censorship. It’s why I disconnected from MSM long ago. And why I promote unplugging from tech or as I prefer to say, being “non-tech by choice,” or “consciously choosing to be non-tech.”
“Of all the troubles that are reported in the media — including wars, terrorism, famine, hatred, crime, and disease — how many are the result of interfering with the natural unfolding of creation? How much of the essential nature of ourselves and our planet is able to shine through? What would Earth be like if governments didn’t meddle in everyone’s lives? What if no one could be perceived as an enemy? Could there be a world where groups of people never got together to control others or to invade or conquer — how about where oceans, mountains, natural resources, air, plants, and animals were respected and allowed to flourish without any interference? Suppose that such a place of simplicity and lack of interference existed…it would be acting exactly as the Tao does, doing nothing and yet leaving nothing undone.”
— Dr. Wayne W. Dyer from Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life, Living the Wisdom of the Tao
Forcing Humanity
When something I am passionate about is assaulted — like freedom, values, choice, nature, relationships, integrity, America, I cannot sit silent. I do not shout down others. I stand up and speak out.
Free will: the ability to choose between different possible courses of action unimpeded.
The current state of global affairs mirrors Big Tech, MSM and SM’s increased programming of humans into robots. Too many have willingly or unconsciously allowed this takeover of their own minds and essentially lives. As humans, we are at the juncture of losing all free will. And that is why I join a growing number who are speaking out about the abuses of power and mass censorship.
Tao Commentary on Force
Verse 30 of the Tao de Ching
— Lao Tzu (translated by Gia-fu Feng and Jane English)
Whenever you advise a ruler in the way of Tao,
Counsel him not to use force to conquer the universe.
For this would only cause resistance.
Thorn bushes spring up wherever the army has passed.
Lean years follow in the wake of a great war.
Just do what needs to be done.
Never take advantage of power.
Achieve results,
But never glory in them.
Achieve results,
But never boast.
Achieve results,
But never be proud.
Achieve results,
Because this is the natural way.
Achieve results,
But not through violence.
Force is followed by loss of strength.
This is not the way of Tao.
That which goes against the Tao
comes to an early end.
Uniting the Forces of Human Nature
Coercion rather than cooperation is unnatural and unhealthy. It is the darker force of deception and increased mandates currently looming worldwide. However, as the populace wakes-up and courageously states “Enough is enough,” the light of truth shines more brightly.
Being non-tech and a student of WP and the new Gutenberg editor, I could not embed this video https://www.urbanglobalhealthalliance.com/ so the link will have to do.
As Candace Owens clearly observes, “There are more slaves than masters. There are always more of us than them. If we say no then it’s no.” But it’s up to us to rise up.

I wish there were so many more people who thought like you, Sue…then America wouldn’t be in this mess. At least, we can unite together and as you say, “Stand in our power of personal responsibility and choice.” Warm wishes for continued insight, courage and conviction.❤❤❤

Loved this paragraph.
” Call me old school but I love a hearty hug, direct eye contact, and a firm handshake. I thrive on two-way conversation in quality human interaction, choice, and thinking for oneself. ”
