That’s an easy and not so easy question to answer. Particularly if I focus on the word like. Loving the natural world, I’ve felt conflicted over emojis since tech degrades the warm human connection to an impersonal experience. So, in honesty I can’t necessarily say I like to use emojis because my preference is a real hug or look in the eye with wide smile.
The internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life. –— Andrew Brown.

Still, if I respond to this prompt with a wide angle lens, I could easily say I’ve long signed handwritten cards, letters and notes with a heart which I suppose you could say is an old school emoji. Not hieroglyphics, mind you — I’m not ancient! Although young techies may differ on that viewpoint. 🙂
In defense of emojis, I do understand that in this Big Tech dominated world, emojis at least try to show some feeling. And it does make me smile when a fellow blogger includes one of those symbols like a heart, thanks or Namaste hands. So, while I am old school and don’t have a flashy PC with a library of emojis, I still either type in the old XXX OOO or 🙂 or copy theirs if it sincerely indicates how I feel. No matter, I’ll always choose the nurturing natural world over tech. Ha!

Our technological powers increase, but the side effects and potential hazards also escalate. — Alvin Toffler
Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lost their common sense. — Gertrude Stein
