Fertilizers for the mind & spirit…

Compost produces miraculous results in the garden. I believe the same holds true for enriching our minds. As with the compost bin, I’ll periodically add tidbits here to ripen, transform and propagate a robust perspective. Please feel free to add some of your own.

May 9th:  “Don’t be distracted by noise, chatter, or setbacks. Patience, commitment, grace, and purpose will guide you.” ~ Louise Hay

April 18th: “Pain is a relatively objective, physical phenomenon; suffering is our psychological resistance to what happens. April 7th:  “Faith begins as an experiment and ends as an experience.” ∼ William Ralph Inge

March 30th:  “No effort is required to define or even attain happiness, but enormous concentration is needed to abandon everything else.” ~  Quentin Crisp, The Naked Civil Servant

January 26th:  “If we believe that in order for life to be good, we have to avoid pain, the danger is that we will become so good at not feeling pain that we will learn not to feel anything — not joy, not love, not hope, not awe.  We will be emotionally anesthetized.”   ~ Harold Kushner, When All You Ever Wanted Isn’t Enough: The Search for a Life that Matters

January 18th: “New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings.” ~ Lao Tzu

January 10th: “Just let go.  Let go of how you thought your life should be and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness.” ~ Caroline Myss

January 1st:  “This week take inventory of what you would like to leave in the old year, what you would like to take into the new year, and what you would like to create a new.” ~ Alan Cohen
